Glossary for Abdominal Cancer

  • Abdominal conditions: Medical conditions affecting the abdominal region.
  • Abdominal pain: A condition which is characterized by the sensation of pain that is located in the abdomen
  • Biliary tract cancer: Cancer that develops in the gallbladder or bile ducts.
  • Cancer: Abnormal overgrowth of body cells.
  • Digestive Diseases: Diseases that affect the digestive system
  • Endometrial Cancer: Cancer of the endometrium (uterus lining).
  • Fever: Elevation of the body temperature above the normal 37 degrees celsius
  • Gastrointestinal tumors: Any tumor of the gastrointestinal (digestive) system, including cancers and benign tumors.
  • Liver cancer: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a primary malignancy of the liver.
  • Nausea: The queasy feeling of nausea and often also vomiting.
  • Night sweats: Night sweats is the occurrence of excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) during sleep. The sufferer may or may not also suffer from excessive perspiration while awake.
  • Ovarian Cancer: Cancer of the ovaries.
  • Pancreatic cancer: Pancreatic cancer is a malignant neoplasm of the pancreas
  • Prostate Cancer: Cancer of the prostate.
  • Renal cancer: Cancer (malignant) of the kidneys. The kidneys are organs that make certain hormones and remove waste from the blood and turning it into urine.
  • Sister Mary Joseph nodule: A term given to a tumor that forms in the belly button (umbilicus) and is associated with advanced cancer - usually stomach or ovarian cancer.
  • Stomach cancer: Stomach or gastric cancer can develop in any part of the stomach and may spread throughout the stomach and to other organs
  • Uterine Cancer: Cancer of the uterus.
  • Weight loss: Loss of body weight.
