Glossary for Amoxicillin -- Teratogenic Agent

  • Blaichman syndrome: A very rare genetic disorder characterized by a malformation where there is an opening between the trachea and esophagus. Webbing of the fifth finger is also present.
  • Clubfoot: Congenital foot birth deformity turning the foot inward
  • Drug-related conditions: Medical conditions related to drug usage, including adverse reactions, intoxication, and overdose.
  • Hip symptoms: Symptoms affecting the hip joint.
  • Leukeran -- Teratogenic Agent: There is evidence to indicate that exposure to Leukeran (a chemotherapy drug) during pregnancy may have a teratogenic effect on the fetus. A teratogen is a substance that can cause birth defects. The likelihood and severity of defects may be affected by the level of exposure and the stage of pregnancy that the exposure occurred at.
  • Pregnancy-related conditions: Any condition that is related to or caused by pregnancy
  • Teratogen-related conditions: Medical conditions related to "teratogens", i.e. substances that can cause birth defects by fetal exposure.
  • Ventricular septal defect: An abnormal connection between the 2 lower chambers (ventricles) of the heart.
