Glossary for Chemical poisoning -- Toxaphene

  • Abnormal liver function tests: Abnormal blood test results indicating that there may be a problem with ones liver
  • Chemical-related conditions: Medical conditions related to chemicals and toxin exposures.
  • Hyperthermia: Hyperthermia is an increase in body temperature in the context of an unchanged thermoregulatory point in the brain.
  • Incoordination: lack of coordination, especially of normal voluntary and harmonious control of muscular movement
  • Nausea: The queasy feeling of nausea and often also vomiting.
  • Poisoning, overdose or adverse reactions: Medical conditions related to poisons, drug overdosage, or drug adverse reactions.
  • Respiratory failure: Failure of the respiratory system
  • Seizures: A rare syndrome characterized by mental retardation, seizures and high levels of hydroxylysine in the urine.
  • Tremor: Involuntary trembling most commonly of the hands.
  • Work-related conditions: Medical conditions related to a person's work or occupation, such as workplace chemical exposures.
