Drug Causes of Deep vein thrombosis
Medication causes:
Another possible risk of HRT, ERT, and the
osteoporosis drug raloxifene for some women is blood clots in their
veins. The chance of developing these clots is small for women not using
these hormones or drugs. There is a significant increase in your chance
of blood clots if you take any of these. (Source: excerpt from Hormone Replacement Therapy Is It For You -- Age Page -- Health Information: NIA)
About medication causes:
Another misdiagnosis possibility is that a particular medication or
substance may be the real cause of the disease.
Certain medications, chemicals, toxins or substances
may possibly be underlying causes of Deep vein thrombosis.
Side effects of medications, or exposure
to toxins, chemicals, or other substances may cause a symptom or condition.
Hence, they become possible underlying causes of Deep vein thrombosis
but are often misdiagnosed or overlooked as a cause.
