Glossary for Dubin-Johnson Syndrome

  • Abdominal Pain: A condition which is characterized by the sensation of pain that is located in the abdomen
  • Dubin-Johnson Syndrome: A rare inherited condition where impaired metabolism of bilirubin results in chronic mild jaundice.
  • Genetic Disease: Any disease that is handed down to oneself through the chromosomes of ones parents
  • Infantile sialic acid storage disorder: A rare inherited biochemical disorder characterized by the accumulation of sialic acid in the tissues and excretion of sialic acid in the urine. The disorder results in death within the first few years of life - usually in infancy.
  • Liver conditions: Any condition that affects the liver
  • Liver enlargement: This is where there is an enlargement of the liver
  • Liver symptoms: Symptoms affecting the liver
  • Liver tenderness: When there is tenderness located over the liver
  • Metabolic disorders: Disorders that affect the metabolic system in human
  • Rotor syndrome: A rare condition that starts soon after birth or during childhood and is characterized by high blood bilirubin levels.
