Glossary for Duplication 7p

  • Cheek symptoms: Symptoms affecting the cheek region
  • Chromosome 7, trisomy 7p: A rare chromosomal disorder where there are three copies of all or part of the short arm (p) of chromosome 7 rather than the normal two. The type and severity of symptoms is determined by the location and size of the genetic material duplicated.
  • Genetic Disease: Any disease that is handed down to oneself through the chromosomes of ones parents
  • Head symptoms: Symptoms affecting the head or brain
  • Jaw symptoms: Symptoms affecting the jaw
  • Long head: Long head refers to an unusually elongated head.
  • Premature fusion of skull bones: Premature fusion of skull bones refers to abnormally early closure of a baby's soft spots in the skull.
  • Skull deformity: A condition which is characterized by a deformity that is located in the skull
