Dyslexia, Susceptibility to, 7: Dyslexia is a name for a condition where people have difficulty with reading and writing. People with dyslexia have normal intelligence and are not in any way mentally retarded or intellectually challenged. The difficulty with certain tasks is believed to be related to problems with perception capability in certain parts of the brain. Researchers have discovered that there are a number of genes linked to an increased susceptibility to dyslexia. Genetic forms of dyslexia are considered to be primary dyslexia and patients tend to have problems with reading, writing and spelling even as adults.
