Emery-Dreifuss Muscular Dystrophy 3: A rare inherited condition characterized mainly by slowly progressive muscle wasting which tends to start during childhood as well as joint contractures. Type 3 is linked to a defect on chromosome 1q21.2. Because the condition is inherited in an autosomal recessive manner so males and females may be affected.
