Glossary for Hepatitis X

  • Abdominal Pain: A condition which is characterized by the sensation of pain that is located in the abdomen
  • Abdominal conditions: Medical conditions affecting the abdominal region.
  • Conditions involving a pathogen: Medical conditions involving some type of pathogen, such as a virus or bacteria.
  • Cytomegalovirus: A easily transmissible viral infection that is common but generally causes no symptoms except in infants and people with weakened immune systems.
  • Diarrhea: Loose or watery stool.
  • Digestive Diseases: Diseases that affect the digestive system
  • Fatigue: Excessive tiredness or weakness.
  • Fever: Elevation of the body temperature above the normal 37 degrees celsius
  • Flu-like symptoms: Symptoms similar to flu including fever
  • Hepatitis: Any type of liver inflammation or infection.
  • Hepatitis A: Contagious viral infection of the liver
  • Hepatitis B: Viral liver infection spread by sex or body fluids.
  • Hepatitis C: Viral liver infection spread by blood.
  • Hepatitis D: Viral liver infection occurring in association with HepB.
  • Hepatitis E: Viral liver infection.
  • Jaundice: Bile or liver problem causing yellowness.
  • Liver conditions: Any condition that affects the liver
  • Nausea: The queasy feeling of nausea and often also vomiting.
  • Poor appetite: Loss or reduction in appetite for food
  • Viral Hepatitis: hepatitis describes inflammation of the liver. Hepatitis may be caused by alcohol, drugs, autoimmune diseases, metabolic diseases, and viruses. Viral infection accounts for more than half the cases of acute hepatitis.
  • Viral diseases: Any disease that is caused by a virus
  • Vomiting: Vomiting or retching symptoms.
