Hypertension, Essential, Susceptibility to, 1: Essential hypertension is a type of hypertension that has no detectable cause. Patients have an increased blood pressure for no apparent reason. Most cases of hypertension are of this form. Researchers have identified a number of genes linked to an increased susceptibility of developing hypertension.
