Glossary for Hypomagnesemia primary

  • Blood conditions: Conditions that affect the blood
  • Deficiency conditions: Medical conditions related to a nutritional deficiency.
  • Flatulence: Passing wind through the anus
  • Mucus stool: Appearance of mucus in stool
  • Nausea: The queasy feeling of nausea and often also vomiting.
  • Nephrocalcinosis: A condition characterized by calcium salt deposits in the kidneys which may affect it's ability to function. The condition refers to a generally increased level of calcium in the kidneys rather than actual localized deposits such as occurs in kidney stones. It may be caused by such things as high blood calcium levels and tuberculosis. The condition often goes unnoticed until kidney or urinary tract stones form.
  • Poor appetite: Loss or reduction in appetite for food
  • Vomiting: Vomiting or retching symptoms.
  • Water-Electrolyte Imbalance: The loss of balance between the level of water and the level of electrolytes in the body. Kidney failure is the most common cause of electrolyte balance but it can also be caused by such things as anorexia, bulimia, severe vomiting or diarrhea, dehydration or chronic laxative abuse.
  • Weight loss: Loss of body weight.
