Intersection syndrome: Introduction
Intersection syndrome: A syndrome characterized by pain in the forearm on the side of the thumb due to inflammation of certain tendons that run over the back of the wrist. The pain is specifically located about four centimeters behind the wrist joint. It is usually caused by strenuous or repetitive motions involving the wrist. It is particular common in rowers and weightlifters or people who do heavy shoveling or raking work.
