Glossary for Mental retardation, Microcephaly, Epilepsy and Ataxia Syndrome

  • Epilepsy: Brain condition causing seizures or spasms.
  • Mental retardation: A very rare syndrome characterized mainly by mental retardation, hypogonadism, diabetes and facial and skull abnormalities.
  • Ophthalmoplegia: A disorder that is characterised by the paralysis of the eye muscles
  • Poor growth: Poor body growth or delayed physical development.
  • Protruding jaw: Protruding jaw is a jaw that sticks out more than average.
  • Speech symptoms: Problems with speech or voice.
