Glossary for Moloney syndrome

  • Eye and vision conditions: Medical conditions affecting the eyes or the vision systems.
  • Fine hair: also called lanugo is the fine hair which grows in an attempt to insulate the skin due to lack of fat
  • Hair conditions: Any disorder the affects the hair
  • Hair loss: Loss or thinning of head or body hair
  • Head Conditions: Conditions that affect the head
  • Impaired vision: Reduced or degraded vision.
  • Moloney syndrome: A very rare syndrome characterized mainly by wasting of the choroids in the eye and sparse, fine hair. The choroid is a layer of blood vessels that lies between the retina and the sclera and delivers blood to the back of the eye.
  • Nail abnormalities: abnormalities of the nail may be missed if the clinician is not aware of the classic patterns that are seen so infrequently
  • Sparse eyebrows: Sparse eyebrows are eyebrows that are thin.
  • Sparse eyelashes: Sparse eyelashes are eyelashes refers to a condition in which there are too few or a lack of eyelashes.
  • Vitreoretinochoroidopathy dominant: A form of hereditary fundus dystrophy
