Cranial helmet: A cranial helmet is a molded, helmet-shaped piece of plastic that is worn by an infant with a cranial deformity, or an infant who has had surgery for craniosynostosis (premature fusion of cranial sutures). The orthotic device is designed to improve the shape of the skull by applying pressure to misaligned areas.
