Strontium-90: Strontium-90 (90Sr) is a radioactive isotope of strontium that is used to treat pterygium, which is a benign growth of the clear film that covers the white part of the eye. Strontium-90 emits relatively weak beta particles that do not penetrate very far into tissue, which makes strontium-90 an ideal isotope to treat pterygium.
