Treadmill ergometer: A treadmill ergometer is a stationary running belt that measures certain vital signs (e.g. pulse) and exercise output (e.g. force exerted) of the individual for improved muscle strength and range of motion. A treadmill ergometer may be used during a physical therapy program, exercise program, or for personal use at home. A treadmill ergometer is also used for weight loss and to evaluate a patient with cardiovascular disease (e.g. stress test).
