Alprazolam: A triazolo benzodiazepine agent with antianxiety and sedative-hypnotic activities. The exact mechanism of action is unknown but it affects the limbic, thalamic and hypothalamic regions of the CNS. Current Use: Anxiety disorders (NCI)
