Description of Chloroplast

Chloroplast: large cellular organelle that contains chlorophyll, consists of a complex lammelar system of membranes, and functions as the site of photosynthesis in green algae and green plant cells.

Chloroplast: Plant cell inclusion bodies that contain the photosynthetic pigment chlorophyll, which is associated with the membrane of THYLAKOIDS. Chloroplasts occur in cells of leaves and young stems of higher plants.
