Description of Honk

Honk: A serious complication of TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS. It is characterized by extreme HYPERGLYCEMIA, DEHYDRATION, serum hyperosmolarity, and depressed consciousness leading to COMA in the absence of KETOSIS and ACIDOSIS.
