Description of Orlistat

Orlistat: A reversible active-site inhibitor of gastrointestinal lipases. Orlistat forms a covalent bond with the active serine site in gastric and pancreatic lipases, thereby inhibiting their activity and preventing dietary fat from being hydrolyzed and absorbed. (NCI04)
