Unstable angina: (1) angina pectoris characterized by pain or sensation of pressure in the chest which is of coronary origin occurring in response to progressively less exercise (or none) or fewer other stimuli than ordinarily required to produce angina; often leading to myocardial infarction, if untreated. (2) angina that has not achieved a constant or reproducible pattern in 30 or 60 days.
