Abortions due to late diagnosis of fetal abnormality

Some Australian disabled care support groups claim that many women tend to have late-term abortions because they receive a late diagnosis of foetal abnormality. They believe that the lack of support and information for people with disabled children increases the chances that a woman will have an abortion. Misdiagnosis is another reason for late-term abortions - some women are treated for a stomach complaint when really they are pregnant.
