American smoking restrictions not costing entertainment industry

As smoking bans were put into place in restaurants, bars, and clubs, many people voted with their feet on the success of such a preventative health measure that the popularity in many places increased. The report of a number of entertainment venues being closed after the restrictions were promoted by the media, however, venues have since opened outnumbered those that had shut down. There has been no downturn of alcohol or food demand, either. By implementing the ban in some American counties and states, health authorities hope that smoking restrictions will be undertaken across the U.S, resulting in future reduction in smoking related diseases, such as lung cancer, and chronic obstructed airway disease (COAD).
