Asthma gene variants linked with brain cancer

Recent research into asthma associated gene variants has discovered that they reduced the risk of developing a common and fatal brain tumor, glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). Conversely, gene variants that were associated with a decreased risk in asthma were found to increase the risk of GBM.
