Avandia produces superior insulin response to sugar as well as promoting recovery of insulin-producing cells

A study has examined the effects of an anti-diabetes drug called Avandia. Study results found that type 2 dibetics took the drug, pancreatic beta-cells regained their ability to create insulin to meet the demands of glucose increase following eating. In the study, Avandia showed a marked initial insulin response to glucose whereas the insulin group didnít. Avandia is one of a group of drugs called thiazolidines which allegedly rejuvenate pancreatic beta cells. Researchers believe Avandia should take priority as a treatment instead of other oral agents.
