Cod liver oil may be a preventative measure for type 1 diabetes in children

Researchers have made the surprising conclusion that cod liver oil may help reduce the risk of childhood type 1 diabetes. The anti-inflammatory action of cold liver oil is believed to be the reason it works. The risk of diabetes was reduced by 26% if cod liver oil was taken during the first year of a child's life.
