Coffee drinkers help their liver

Japanese researchers have found that coffee can reduce the risk of cirrhosis and liver cancer. The study involved 61,000 people and results showed that people who drank one cup of coffee each day had a 0.58 risk of liver cancer compared to 1 for those who didn't drink coffee. Other risk factors for developing liver cancer included a previous liver condition, were over 60 years old or who had a history of smoking. Despite the benefits of coffee, researchers warn that sugar should be kept to a minimum.
