Current testing of a rare cancer can result in misdiagnosis

An indicator that is commonly used to detect choriocarinoma (rare placental cancer) can actually show a false positive. This results in unnecessary surgery such as hysterectomy or ovary removal and chemotherapy. Urine tests need to be added to testing to prevent this.
