Researchers have combined studies that contain information on diabetes and colorectal cancer and have found that both sexes are at a 30% increased risk of developing cancer of the colon and rectum if they are diabetic. Medical experts believe that the high blood sugar level encourages cancer to form in this tissue. This places further concern on the expanding population waistline and diabetes incidence.
