A recent study on providing pregnant mothers with a low cholesterol diet found that those on the special diet had a reduced incidence of delivering prematurely compared to the group of mothers who did not change their diet. LDL concentrations in the blood of the mother and baby were reduced with fish, lean meat, reduced fat dairy, fresh fruit and vegetables, legumes and vegetable oils.
