Family files wrongful death suit over baby's alleged death due to negligence

The family of a premature baby filed a law suit after their baby died. It was alleged that hospital staff failed to notice that the infant's catheter had dislodged causing formula to leak around her heart ultimately resulting in a fatal heart attack. It is expected that the fault may lie with the catheter equipment in which case, the manufacturer may be liable. Two months after the baby's death, the manufacturer recalled the feeding device as a precaution. It is alleged that 5 babies at another hospital suffer similar problems of which the manufacturer denies any knowledge.
