An Australian University study has found that fish oil supplements may have a preventative effect against childhood asthma for those with a family history of allergies. However, removal of dust mites from the home environment seemed to have no effect on incidence of asthma in children. The omega-3 fatty acids prevent cells from getting inflamed and asthma is simply an inflammation of the airways.
