Gene presence determines migraine susceptibility

Platelets are found in the blood and they stop the bleeding in damaged blood vessels. Researchers have found that people who have migraines have more genes that produce platelets. Thus a simple blood test may help determine those who are prone to migraines. These results may also help determine what causes migraines and hence how to treat it.
