Healthy diet staves off breast cancer recurrence

The prevention of recurring breast cancer can be attained by simply following a low fat diet, a study has shown. Postmenopausal women were given either a low-fat diet by a dietician or a higher fat diet and their follow-up found that breast cancer was less likely to reappear in the low-fat diet group. The researchers are basically promoting a healthy, well balanced diet, without processed, or packaged foods, and weight loss either through dietary measures and/or exercise. Alcohol has also been shown to increase the risk of breast cancer.
