Heart failure survival increased with surgery

Timely angioplasty or coronary bypass surgery improves the access of blood to the heart thereby increasing effective heart functioning more so than treatment with medications. A recent study found that out of a cohort of people with heart failure who had surgery faired better over time than those people taking heart drugs. Surgery can have its own risks with complications including pain, infection, and death.
