Hibiscus flower extract may protect against heart disease

A hibiscus flower extract may have similar protective benefits on the heart as red wine and tea say a team of researchers in Taiwan. The extract contains and antioxidant that has been shown to reduce cholesterol levels in animals and may have the same effect on humans. Hibiscus is traditionally used in China, India and Taiwan to treat blood pressure and liver disorders.
