Lorry driver suffering from blackouts kills family after being given all clear by GP

A GP completed a form allowing a lorry driver to continue work even though he had prior knowledge of the man suffering from blackouts while driving due to Type 2 Diabetes. Several weeks later, the driver suffered a blackout and crashed into a car, killing the three occupants. The driver was jailed for three years and the doctor received a reprimand from the General Medical Council.
