Man led to believe he is HIV positive for 8 years

A man was led to believe that he was HIV positive for 8 years before the truth was discovered. He had not required any HIV medication as his blood tests indicated he didnít require any. However, he lived life as a HIV patient and used resources available for his condition. He is relieved and angry now that the truth has been discovered. The man is preparing to file a malpractice claim. False positive HIV diagnoses are rare but litigious. A Maryland woman who was led to believe she was HIV positive is suing for $2 million. Another man who was led to believe he was HIV positive for 4 years was awarded $1.4 million.
