Nearly 20% of people erroneously believe they have a food allergy

20% of adults have indicated in a survey that they suffer from food allergies. However, only 1 2% were found to be genuine cases after testing was performed. Physical symptoms associated with food allergy are usually lip swelling, stomach cramps, vomiting, diarrhea, hives, rashes, eczema, runny nose and breathing problems. The only treatment currently available for food allergy is avoidance of the food.
