The Providence state medical board has suspended an obstetrician for a year. The obstetrician failed to take a woman back into surgery after her stomach swelled and blood pressure dropped following an operation to remove ovaries and uterus. He also falsified her patient records. Another doctor was also reprimanded by the board for misdiagnosing a patient's neck lump as a pulled muscle instead of cancer.
