Osteoporosis is a serious disease often undiagnosed

The consequences of osteoporosis are serious yet many remain undiagnosed even though the test is quick and painless. The risk factors are: smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, use of some drugs eg corticosteroids and some anti-seizure medications, cold climate, small people, early menopause, family history of the disease and women over 55 years old.
