Prevention is the key to controlling surging numbers of HIV/AIDS

About 53,000 people in the UK have AIDS with one fifth of them living in London. Almost half of new cases of HIV diagnosed in 2003 were in London. 37.8 million people worldwide have HIV/AIDS. New drugs have helped slow the progression of the HIV to AIDS but as yet there is no cure so prevention is a priority. Regular checkups are advisable to improve prognosis.
