Prisoners complain of inadequate health care

Inmates in state correctional centres have made allegations against poor health care during their incarceration. One prisoner stated that medication for his inflammatory skin disease was not administered, leading to exacerbation of his condition and infection. Other official complaints made by inmates have not been support in court, however, many accusations are still being made regarding access to adequate medical examination and treatment. Such accusations include an infected spider bite, a grossly infected root canal, a miscarriage, and a vascular incident occurring due to retention of medications. The argument made by a correctional centre spokesperson was that the prisoners received justified medical care according to their ailment, although it might not have been what they expected.
