Rare condition puts doctors at risk of malpractice

The Medical Defence Union points out that financial settlements were made in three cases where patients sustained long term health problems after doctors failed to diagnose the rare disease cauda equine syndrome. There was a further 95 such cases of misdiagnosis, 65% of which were headed for negligence claims.
