Regional block performed without consent leads to a 1.5 million verdict

A man was to undergo surgery to treat a shoulder injury. His refusal to have a regional block was documented yet when the surgery was performed it was used. After surgery he suffered from ptosis and a great deal of pain which was allegedly due to the block. He now suffers from Complex Regional Pain Syndrome and is unable to work.
