Sleep disorders are a neglected health problem

Poor quality and quantity of sleep is often associated with other conditions like diabetes, depression, hypertension and cardiovascular problems. Daytime drowsiness associated with lack of sleep can affect short-term memory and decision-making abilities and can cause mood swings. It is believed to have caused 100,000 vehicle crashes in the US. 74% of Americans are believed to have sleep problems – many remain undiagnosed.
