Stress increases risk of heart disease in diabetics

Men with diabetes face twice the risk of heart disease and women with diabetes face three times the risk say researchers. Psychological distress increases the risk and thus it is important for diabetics to try to reduce their stress levels. Stressed people are more likely to have depression and less likely to look after themselves by not smoking and exercising.
