Surgical treatment for asthma a posibility

Bronchial thermoplasty may provide surgical relief for severe asthma sufferers. It involves heating some of the muscles which line the airway to the lungs that would normally tighten during an asthma attack. The heating of these muscle linings makes reduces their ability to contract by 50% thus reducing frequency and severity of asthma attack. This treatment also reduces the requirement for drugs to treat asthma.
