The poor in the UK are more prone to asthma

The UK has the highest rate of childhood asthma in the world and research has shown that this is due to poverty. Poorer people are more likely to live in damp, cold, dirty or infested homes which all increase the risk of asthma. 1 in 8 children in the UK suffer from asthma.
